The Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka Capital Group is one of the largest hard coal producers in Poland, specializing in supplying the raw material primarily for electricity and heat generation. Our coal is widely used in the power industry, and its largest customers are power plants in eastern and northeastern Poland.
The Group’s headquarters is in Bogdanka, located in the Puchaczów commune, Lublin Voivodeship. Lubelski Węgiel “Bogdanka” is part of the Enea Group as a key pillar in the Mining segment. Since 2009, the company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, confirming its stable market position.
Lubelski Węgiel “Bogdanka” S.A. is the parent company of the Group, engaged in underground mining, processing, and beneficiation of hard coal, primarily for commercial power generation. The company is also responsible for the sale of raw materials, conducted under long-term contracts. Other companies within the Group serve as support entities, complementing the core business. Subsidiaries include:
- Łęczyńska Energetyka, which deals with the production of thermal energy, repairs and maintenance of energy equipment, and the production of drinking and industrial water.
- Ekotrans Bogdanka, responsible for organizing waste transport and recovery processes, as well as land reclamation.
- RG Bogdanka, providing services, supplies and mining works to LW Bogdanka.
- MR Bogdanka, specializing in the renovation and regeneration of steel structures and providing additional services such as washing work clothes and preparing drinks for mine workers.
Coal at Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka is extracted from three mining fields: Bogdanka, Nadrybie, and Stefanów. In 2022, over 98% of the production was fine coal, with the remainder being pea and nut coal. The company holds four hard coal mining licenses, and with a planned production level of approximately 9 million tons per year, the coal reserves in key areas will suffice for over 50 years of operation.
Thanks to many years of work, commitment, and innovative solutions, Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka has become a leader in the mining industry and one of the most important companies in southeastern Poland.
In May 2023, the company announced the Key Elements of the Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka Capital Group Development Strategy for 2023-2030, with an outlook to 2040. The new strategy is a response to global changes, especially those affecting the energy and mining sectors, which are facing new challenges related to a dynamically changing world.
