16th International Invention and Innovation Fair INTARG®

“Science and innovation as a tool for modernizing the economy and improving living conditions and quality of life”

The 16th International Invention and Innovation Fair INTARG® will take place in Katowice, at the International Congress Center, on May 24 and 25, 2023. It is an event with a broad reach – interdisciplinary, national, and international.

Over its many years of existence, INTARG® has developed a high international profile, as evidenced by its annual support from top-ranking national and international institutions, including – as the only fair in Poland – the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) (one of 16 UN agencies). Governmental and international institutions, leading Polish research institutions, innovative enterprises, and numerous foreign delegations participate as exhibitors in the event.

The Fair’s primary goals are the market-oriented promotion and commercialization of inventions and innovations, technology transfer, synergy between science and industry, and the creation of an innovation ecosystem. They provide a platform for cooperation between the scientific community and industry, disseminating best practices in this area, and also offer assistance in obtaining funding for development based on innovation and new technologies.

The organizers intend to devote particular attention to ecology during the upcoming INTARG Fair. “Green” technologies are an extremely important topic, and therefore, it will be given special prominence through the creation of a special EKO zone. INTARG-EKO will be a response to the EU program, which aims to guide EU countries towards ecological transformation and ultimately achieve climate neutrality by 2050, including by preventing global warming, climate change on Earth, the deterioration of quality of life, the increase in lifestyle diseases, and the degradation of our planet.

A key element of the Fair is the INTARG® International Competition, in which inventions will be evaluated by a jury. The highest-scoring solutions will receive awards:

  • Grand Prix and awards for the best foreign invention; Jury Chairman’s Award; WIPO awards in several categories; and for innovative solutions with a high TRL level.
  • Platinum medals – for the best invention in a given industry category.
  • Diamond medals – for innovations of particular social significance.
  • Honorary patron and partner awards.
  • Competition medals awarded by the jury: gold, silver, and bronze.

ACCOMPANYING EVENTS:

  • conference, presentations, discussion panels discussing important issues for the synergy of science and economy, technology transfer, and the creation of friendly innovation ecosystems
  • networking and business meetings aimed at encouraging business contacts between science and economy
  • The final gala of the INTARG® 2023 Trade Fair, with the presentation of the highest awards and distinctions to the winners of the 16th INTARG® 2023 Competition, the 21st INNOVATION LEADER® Promotional Emblem Competition, and the 18th YOUNG INVENTOR Competition.

LOCATION: The International Congress Centre (MCK) in Katowice, thanks to its location in the very center of the capital of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis, is the right place to realize the mission of this event. Katowice is:

  • European City of Science 2024
  • One of the leading cities in Central and Eastern Europe, also in terms of its strategy for attracting foreign investment.
  • A venue for the largest congresses and business meetings in Central and Eastern Europe.
  • Home of the Katowice Special Economic Zone – the leader among Polish special economic zones.

The Fair’s exhibition space will be divided into industry, institutional and national zones as well as a B2B conference and meeting zone.
