Central Mining Rescue Station S.A. (CSRG S.A.) was founded with the mission of providing rapid assistance in situations threatening the life and health of people working in mining plants. It works to ensure operational safety in mining plants and in the area of public safety, while also engaging in the country’s economic and defense activities.
History
The history of mine rescue in Upper Silesia dates back to the 1970s, when the first organized rescue teams began to form. In 1906, following the tragic events in a mine in France, the Upper Silesian Main Mine Rescue Station was established in Bytom, becoming the central hub overseeing all rescue operations. After World War II, the Central Mine Rescue Station was established in 1958. In 2005, it became a state-owned company, remaining a leader in the organization and coordination of mine rescue operations.
Mission and activities
CSRG S.A. fulfills its mission by providing assistance in the event of mining accidents and conducting extensive educational activities related to occupational safety. The company collects and analyzes data, provides reports and analyses on the state of the hard coal mining sector, and also offers assistance in restructuring processes and mining investments.
Monitoring and tasks
CSRG S.A. conducts detailed monitoring of the hard coal mining industry in Poland, including production, sales, distribution, and investment activities. Since 2003, the company has been systematically collecting statistical and qualitative data, then analyzing it to prepare proposals for actions supporting the development of the mining sector.
