Mining Machinery Cluster

The Mining Machinery Cluster is a spatial and sectoral concentration of enterprises that produce and sell a range of products related or complementary to the mining industry.

Only a knowledge-based economy is the answer to increasing competition and shortening product lifespans. Collaboration between industry and research institutions is now essential, as is collaboration with local government organizations and business support institutions. Global competition also requires the involvement of greater production potential, which should be reflected in collaboration between companies operating in the same or related industries, leveraging synergies, primarily in the diffusion of knowledge, attracting new businesses, and the flow of human capital. Such connections are already operating successfully worldwide, and also in Poland, and are defined as cluster connections.

The Founding Members Group of the Mining Machinery Cluster consists of:

The formal signing of the Cooperation Agreement, which serves as the Founding Act of the Mining Machinery Cluster, took place on September 8, 2011, during the Coal Meeting conference organized by the Mining Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as part of the International Fair of Mining, Energy and Metallurgy “Katowice 2011.”

By signing this Agreement, the Founding Members set themselves the goal of achieving production capabilities for new, high-quality, innovative, and safe mining machinery solutions, competitive on both domestic and global markets, resulting from the active cooperation of the Cluster Participants.

The Cluster is open to entrepreneurs, scientific institutions, business support institutions, and regional authorities.
