Local Socio-Economic Development Workshops

The project involves the organisation of eight workshops on local socio-economic development in the Silesian Voivodeship, in the subregions of Katowice, Gliwice, Bytom, Rybnik, Tychy, Sosnowiec and Bielsko-Biała, which will be held in the third and fourth quarters of 2022 and the first and fourth quarters of 2023, addressed in particular to representatives of local communities, business environment institutions and renewable energy sector companies located in the Silesian Voivodeship.

The aim of the workshops is to identify the conditions for the transformation and develop socio-economic solutions for the transformation (project proposals).

Stakeholders participating in the workshops will create a cooperation network for a just transition for the Silesian Voivodeship.

The workshops should identify the role of local development, which is a continuous process and concerns the area, and therefore represents territorial development, not sectoral development, in the context of community mobilization, fostering a sense of belonging to a place and local values, and building a sense of agency among local actors for a just socio-economic transformation.
