Project objective:
Supporting and streamlining the management of the just transition process in the Silesian Voivodeship, with particular emphasis on the labor market, diversification of economic activity, and the potential of post-industrial areas, including post-mining areas, through the development of the Regional Transition Process Observatory.

Project objective:
Supporting and streamlining the management of the just transition process in the Silesian Voivodeship, with particular emphasis on the labor market, diversification of economic activity, and the potential of post-industrial areas, including post-mining areas, through the development of the Regional Transition Process Observatory.

Substantive scope of the project:

The project is aimed at stakeholders in the just transition process in seven subregions of the Silesian Voivodeship: Bielsk, Bytom, Gliwice, Katowice, Rybnik, Sosnowiec, and Tychy.

The project will be implemented in four modules:

Diagnostic, strategic and foresight research and analyses on the just transition process in the economic, social and environmental dimensions to better identify needs and anticipate changes related to the transition process.

Strengthening dialogue between various sectors of social and economic life and promoting cooperation and a participatory model for the region’s just transition process. This module will include:

  • information, educational and networking events, including workshops/meetings/study visits for stakeholders from all areas affected by the just transition process,
  • information campaigns – promoting partnership and cooperation,
  • good practice manuals for municipalities, entrepreneurs, trade unions and non-governmental organizations.

Developing innovative and model solutions/good practices/guidelines to improve the transformation process, which can be implemented locally or regionally (transformation laboratories).

Improving and strengthening the regional transformation process management system by:

  • coordination of the platform for cooperation and exchange of experiences,
  • collecting and disseminating knowledge,
  • creating and promoting a database of good practices and models/tools that can be used in implementing transformation in the economic, social and environmental areas as well as at the regional and local level,
  • expanding and updating the database of stakeholders of the just transition process,
  • ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the ongoing just transition process in both strategic and implementation dimensions.
