The Science and Mining Traditions Foundation was established in 1993 to support the development of mining science and technology and to promote the industry. The Foundation engages in educational, cultural, and outreach activities, aiming to preserve the history of mining and support contemporary scientific and research initiatives. Our strategic goals are:
- Promoting the achievements of mining science and supporting mining science at the national and international levels,
- Disseminating knowledge about the history of mining, promoting and cultivating mining traditions,
- Inspiring social initiatives that support the Foundation’s goals.
Our activities also cover a wide range of research and development works in various areas of mining, both open pit and underground, and environmental protection, including innovative technologies that aim to increase the efficiency and safety of mining processes and minimize the impact of mining activities on the environment.
Open-pit mining
We offer comprehensive research and development services in open-pit mining, focusing on increasing the efficiency and safety of mining processes. We specialize in designing modern technologies for the exploitation of mineral deposits, optimizing transportation systems, and reducing mining costs. Our work also includes the development of innovative geotechnical methods and assessing the environmental impact of mining activities.
Underground mining
Our research in underground mining focuses on improving occupational safety, optimizing mining technology, and improving productivity. We offer solutions for developing advanced ventilation systems, reducing the risk of hazards such as rock bursts and methane explosions, and developing technologies for remote monitoring of environmental conditions in mines.
Environmental protection
As part of our environmental protection efforts, we conduct research and development aimed at minimizing the negative impact of mining activities on ecosystems. Our solutions include the reclamation and revitalization of post-mining areas, the protection of surface and groundwater, and the reduction of dust and gas emissions. We utilize innovative technologies, such as monitoring ecosystem changes and assessing environmental impact.
