Silesian Coal International Group of Companies SA is a subsidiary of the German company HMS Bergbau AG, which draws capital from American, German, and Swiss investments.

The company was founded with the goal of implementing mining projects in Poland, particularly the construction of the new Orzesze hard coal mine, located on the Żory-Suszec 1 deposit in the Silesian Voivodeship. Silesian Coal emphasizes that this investment is being financed solely by private investors, without the involvement of the Polish state.

HMS Bergbau AG, the owner and founder of Silesian Coal, has over 20 years of experience in the energy resources market, providing a solid foundation for the development of the company’s mining projects. In recent years, Silesian Coal has been seeking a concession for the exploration and exploitation of hard coal deposits in the Silesian region, including the Orzesze deposit, and has also expressed interest in the Dębieńsko 1 deposit.
