EXME Berger Group was founded by Dr. Jerzy Berger, a Ph.D. in Technical Sciences from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, who has been involved in the mining industry since 1977. As an expert in the field of methane hazard, Dr. Berger has held numerous positions in scientific and industry institutions, including the Advisory Council of the Faculty of Mining and Geoengineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Methane Hazard Committee at the State Mining Authority in Katowice. His commitment to the development of the mining industry is invaluable, and his contribution to investigating the causes of mining accidents is a significant element of the company’s experience.
The history of EXME Berger Group dates back to 1967, when ZOK was established – a methane drainage department at the mines in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. ZOK Sp. z o.o. became a pioneer in Poland in the field of comprehensive methane drainage for hard coal mines, and for thirty years has been a pillar of the EXME Group, comprising five companies: ZOK Sp. z o.o., ZOK-TECH Sp. z o.o., ZSRG Sp. z o.o., EXME PLUS Sp. z o.o., and DALBIS Sp. z o.o.
The Group is certified as a research and development entity, allowing it to act as an expert in mining operations. EXME Berger Group also performs analyses of coal methane content and sorption properties in its accredited Research Laboratory.
