Seminar “Innovative and Sustainable Mining Industry – Technological, Energy and Environmental Transformations in the Metal Ore Mining Sector”

On November 26, 2024, a seminar titled “Innovative and Sustainable Mining Industry – Technological, Energy, and Environmental Transformations in the Metal Ore Mining Sector” was held at the BCU headquarters. The aim of this event was to present current trends and technological developments in metal ore mining, including new technological solutions and ideas enabling sustainable production while simultaneously gaining public trust in the context of clean and safe methods of raw material extraction and processing.

The seminar was organized by the Polish Copper Employers’ Association, and the event was held in a hybrid format. Over 200 participants attended. The meeting was opened by Jarosław Dudkowiak, President of the Management Board of the Polish Copper Employers’ Association.

The event discussed innovative approaches in mining, such as sustainable development, the circular economy, ESG issues, smart mining, and environmental responsibility. Examples of good practices were presented and the need to implement innovations in natural resource management and the circular economy was discussed. The importance of cooperation between science, industry and public administration in creating comprehensive strategies for the transformation of the sector was also highlighted, which may contribute to faster adaptation to global standards of sustainable development and climate neutrality.
