About the event:

The conference has long been one of the most important events integrating representatives of the scientific community, industry, and public administration around the challenges related to the development of the raw materials industry. This year’s edition will provide an opportunity to discuss the strategic importance of Lower Silesia’s mineral resources, responsible mining, innovative technologies, and the education of specialists for the raw materials sector.

The event will begin with an October prologue, organized during the Inauguration of the Academic Year at the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining, and Geology of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. In cooperation with the City of Wrocław, an open exhibition will be prepared to promote modern mining, the potential of Lower Silesia’s natural resources, and efforts to promote environmental protection and sustainable development.

The November conference will include scientific and technical sessions and an expert panel entitled “Lower Silesia Mines the Future – on the Importance of the Raw Materials Industry and the Education of Specialists.” A key highlight of the program will be the presentation of the assumptions of the Lower Silesian Regional Raw Materials Policy.

The Mining Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the event’s substantive patron. Janusz Olszowski, President of the Mining and Mining Association, is a member of the conference’s Scientific and Technical Committee.

The conference was initiated and conceived by Prof. Robert Król, PhD, DSc, Eng., Head of the Department of Mining at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, who is developing the idea of ​​the event as a platform for dialogue connecting science, industry, and public administration around the challenges of raw material security and the future of modern mining.
