On July 14, 2026, the second meeting in a series of meetings with green technology leaders took place, organized by the Mining Chamber of Industry and Commerce as part of the “Regional Observatory of the Transformation Process 2.0 (ROPT 2.0)” project. This time, participants visited the headquarters of Elektrometal S.A. in Cieszyn—a company with a long-standing tradition that successfully combines industrial experience with the development of modern technologies, business diversification, and investments in solutions supporting the transition.
The visit was aimed at entrepreneurs from the Silesian Voivodeship, particularly those representing industries vulnerable to the effects of the transformation process. Its goal was to present practical examples of changes being implemented at a manufacturing company, to explore the technological solutions used in various areas of Elektrometal S.A.’s operations, and to create an opportunity for discussions, the exchange of experiences, and the establishment of business contacts.
From the company’s history to its plans for the future
The first part of the meeting consisted of presentations and discussions. Representatives of Elektrometal S.A. provided participants with an overview of the company’s history, its development, and its current scope of operations. They also discussed various aspects of the company’s operations, including solutions for the gas industry, industrial lighting, mining, and electromobility.
Particular attention was paid to the modernization processes implemented in recent years in the production areas. Participants learned about the measures that enabled the company to reduce electricity consumption, improve operational efficiency, and modernize its technological infrastructure. Company representatives also discussed solutions aimed at improving occupational safety and health, including workstation upgrades, organizational improvements, and investments in modern equipment.
Elektrometal S.A.’s plans for the future were also a key focus of the discussions. The company presented its development strategies in response to the changing economic, technological, and energy landscape. These included, among other things, further initiatives in the areas of renewable energy, electromobility, increasing the efficiency of production processes, and utilizing EU funds to finance development investments.
Tour of the production facilities and technical support areas
Following the informational session, participants had the opportunity to tour the Elektrometal S.A. production facility from the inside. Company representatives guided them through the production halls, showcasing selected areas of the company’s operations, its technical infrastructure, and the solutions used in day-to-day production.
One of the highlights of the visit was the production area for electric vehicle chargers, including chargers designed for buses and public service vehicles. Participants were able to see how the company is developing its expertise in the field of electromobility and how it leverages its industrial experience to create solutions that meet the needs of modern transportation.
During the tour, a 3D printing area was also showcased, which supports ongoing production, prototyping, and the preparation of selected components. This is one example of how modern technologies can streamline industrial processes, reduce component lead times, and increase the company’s flexibility.
Participants also visited the energy storage facility, which is a key component of the company’s infrastructure in terms of effective energy management and the development of solutions related to the energy transition. The visit to this area provided an opportunity to discuss the practical significance of investments that reduce energy consumption and support more sustainable plant operations.
Research Laboratory, Quality Control, and Machinery Fleet
A key part of the program was a visit to the Elektrometal S.A. research laboratory, which supports the production of systems for the gas, lighting, and mining industries. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the scope of research conducted by the company and see the important role that quality control, component testing, and verification of the technical parameters of finished solutions play in the production process.
Participants were also shown the machinery used, among other things, to verify electrical connections and connectors. This presentation provided a better understanding of the process of ensuring product reliability and the critical importance of precise technical testing in the production of systems designed for demanding industrial sectors.
During the visit, selected production areas were also discussed, including assembly, machining, component preparation, and solutions supporting the safe use of equipment. Elektrometal S.A. presented itself as a company with extensive technological capabilities, capable of carrying out complex production, assembly, design, and research and development processes.
Sharing experiences and discussing the challenges of transformation
An important part of the meeting was a discussion with company representatives. Among other things, the discussion focused on Elektrometal S.A.’s experiences with obtaining public subsidies, utilizing EU funds, and implementing development projects. The topic of challenges related to public procurement was also raised; for many companies, this is a significant part of their operations, but it also involves numerous formal and organizational requirements.
Company representatives also shared their reflections on the company’s future in the context of market, technological, and energy changes. They emphasized the importance of flexibility, investing in new competencies, diversifying operations, and consistently modernizing production processes.
The visit to Elektrometal S.A. demonstrated that transformation can be not only a challenge but also a catalyst for growth, the exploration of new business areas, and the strengthening of the company’s competitiveness. For the participants, it was an opportunity to gain practical knowledge, learn about specific implementations, and engage in dialogue with a company that has been growing for years at the intersection of traditional industry and modern technologies.
